A Kewin in canada

by Dan
(Brantford, Ontario, Canada)

Got on this site because I decided to try to reach MY community. I live 60 miles west of Toronto, Ontario. The great melting pot as Canadians love to pronounce, with a touch of "holier than thou" in the voice. Problem is, every 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation Canadian has a community, no matter where they may be from. I don't see that with the micks.

When I was a kid, I lived in a small town. the neighbourhood was pretty much all micks. I felt comfortable and at home. My family then moved 100 miles west and I found myself at age 12 amongst the children of various europeans. My catholic, liberal, and love generation upbringing taught me to be open and inclusive. I found most others to be on the same page. (Except when push came to shove!)

Confused about my irish roots but the names are thus:
Kewin
Donnelly
Foote
O'Grady
Keohvan.
